As the school holidays end and Mia returns to school, it seems a good time to take a look back at the last few weeks for this month’s Siblings Project. Mia and Joe have enjoyed so many lovely times together over the Easter break; long muddy walks and den making, museum trips and happy days visiting family and friends. And, of course they have had disagreements, and argued and sometimes been a little house-cooped on rainy days. But, during these few weeks together every day, it really feels like their friendship has grown. More than once I have found them curled up on the sofa together…not something they have ever done before…when I notice I creep away, not wanting to make a big deal of it, and hoping they’ve not noticed me so that they will stay thay way. It is these little peaceful moments of friendship that make your heart melt a little. They make all of the stressful, not so nice times, when it’s my job to be the bad guy, just so completely worth it.
I have also been joining in with the Siblings Project on Instagram at @siblings_project . Come and take a look if you’ve not joined in already!
