Siblings (March)

I love that all of our portraits for this month’s Siblings Project are all outside. Spring is very much on it’s way… although where has the sunshine gone today, it’s freezing cold and I’m back to wearing thermal tights! Last weekend was lovely though and went to visit some newborn lambs at a nearby farm. Trying to persuade Mia and Joe to stay still long enough for a photo was so difficult, and although this portrait of them is not at all as I planned it, I love it for its imperfections. Joe is running off, Mia’s pulling a silly face, and her jacket clashes with the green background, but it perfectly sums up our day running around the farm!

Later that day we stopped at Dorchester on Thames for tea and cake, and found a great walk from the village out into the countryside. Mia and Joe always love to run ahead, but Mia can go so much faster than Joe. He so desparately wants to keep up with her that I feel a bit sorry for him. It won’t be forever though, especially at the rate he is growing! I reminded Mia that Joe will probably grow taller than her eventually, and that it won’t always so easy to beat him in a running race! Important lessons being learned from their relationship.

I have also been joining in with the Siblings Project on Instagram at @siblings_project . Come and take a look if you’ve not joined in already!

I have an image of you and your siblings having a race after reading this. Jon insists that he would win…

Hehe! In a sprint perhaps, but I used to be quite the cross country runner in my school days!

The spring flowers are out, but it’s still so cold here! Hoping it warms up for the Easter holidays!
