Oxfordshire Bluebell Wood

Toy Cars

A portrait of my children once a week, every week, in 2015

Mia: was very grumpy when I suggested a walk in the woods on a grey and stormy afternoon. I suggested it was a bluebell hunt, and that the first person to touch a bluebell was the winner….as soon as she spotted them in the distance she ran straight in!

Joseph: is almost always playing cars…although this week he has branched out to playing with Mia’s baby dolls…he calls them bébé (said in a French accent!) and pushes them around the house in their ‘car’ (the baby pram). I am delighted that he has found a new game, as I am a bit rubbish at playing cars, and perhaps playing bébés will help to develop a more gentle and nurturing side of his character…I can hope!

it’s good for him to play with bébés too, because there aren’t just mothers but also fathers, I really hate this distinction between boy/girl games. a few days ago wendie asked me if blue (her favourite colour) was a boy colour, I don’t know where did she listen to that, but I was really angry…
