twenty six / fifty two

DSCN0247edA portrait of my children once a week, every week, in 2014

Mia: first gap. She was initially terrified of the wobbly tooth, but gradually got used to it. The tooth only wobbled for a week before falling out (in an apple). I gave her my little wooden tooth fairy pot, which she put her tooth in and placed under her pillow. The excitement the next morning when she found the tooth gone and a shiny gold coin in return, was the sweetest…even if it was dawn!

Joseph: a nearly-better-at-last baby! Enjoying a rest indoors from playing in the sunshine.

This week marks the halfway point of the project this year. It seems fitting that Mia and Joe have both marked this landmark in some way…Mia with the loss of her first baby tooth, and Joe will be turning one in just two days time! I am often reminded of the too-true quote about parenting that the days may be long, but the years are short.

Joining in with Jodi and the other lovely bloggers for the 52 portraits project.
