To me, it makes complete sense to eat what is growing at the moment. Lots of green leafy vegetables like this beautiful cavolo nero in the middle of winter just feels kind of right. Perfect steamed and served with lots of buttery mashed potato!

Each month or so I plan to share photos of the seasonal fruit and veg I am eating. Some of it (mainly in the summer) will be from the tiny plot in my garden, some from local markets and no doubt some from the supermarket!

I am looking forward to sharing a little bit of my greedy nature, and maybe a few recipes too!

I would love to hear your ideas for comforting January food!
