notting hill is ready for the jubilee

I visited London at the weekend for the Mid Century Modern show at Lords Cricket Ground. It was good, but so much smaller than I had expected! I had seen the whole exhibition within half an hour!

We had lunch at Mori in St Johns Wood, great sushi and the most delicious frozen yoghurt with oreo cookies! With a couple of hours before our train home we took a wander around Notting Hill, through Portabello market…stopping for quite a few icy coffees along the way!

There were so many Union Jack flags decorating the streets, shops and homes for the upcoming Jubilee celebrations next weekend! Whilst I’m not much of a royalist, it’s nice to see communities getting together for some summer partying!

The last photo is from a tube stop (I can’t remember which one!) where a lot of building work is taking place. Aren’t the mosaics beautiful?
